Consultants and recruiters often spend no more than a few seconds looking at your application when shortlisting interview candidates. If you’re not as confident though, then it should definitely not stop you from getting your internship! Get comfortable with case studies and develop your own style.

Personally, I found the best case interviews [ in LOMS ] to be the most helpful. Consulting is definitely not the end-all, be-all. First is your attitude.

First, those who have the time and are able to devote it to case study interview practice have a significant advantage. The consultant walks down the hall to the recruiter coordinator's office. She says to the recruiter, "Hey there Amy. I gave her a quick case, and I think she's good. How's it going?

Excel skills are the one thing which recruiters continuously say are very weak among new consultants. 1) Excel Easy - this is a good place to start for Excel beginners - clear definitions are given for all terms and acronyms followed by worked through screen shot examples of how to complete tasks.

Interviewee-Led Interview Definition. Interviewer-Led Interview Definition. These are common for on campus recruiting where 60+ people may be being interviewed. As such, they use this round to weed out the people who can’t solve cases by making sure everyone gets cases that are comparable in terms of difficulty.

A CaseInterview.com student who received an interview from BCG recently asked me about how a practice case study interview works. Best case -- it's pure practice and nothing else. I've also noticed a trend of more firms offering practice case interviews with an actual practice interviewer.
