To secure a final round interview at Bain, you would have to be in the top 3% of applicants for that office. No one enjoys being turned down, especially in the case of a consulting role where a lot of preparation is required. Dropping these terms in interviews can be good, but only as a Master’s student, and only when appropriately practical. Her biggest hangup in case interviews was “de-jargonizing” her language and really understanding the fundamentals of business which an Econ degree had not taught her. The knock on engineering?
