Maybe serve as a teaching assistant in the course or conduct an independent research project on a topic you learned about within the course. Do not expect professors to have recruiters for your dream firm on speed dial. Often, they will also ask for a resume, which is an easy way to get your information to them.

I went through workshops offered by these firms and talked to numerous recruiters and consultants. I read Marc Cosentino's Book ( Case in Point ), and I watched your videos (unfortunately, LOMS wasn't available yet). I did the same for resume questions, i.e., I tried to structure my answers to questions like "Why our firm?"

It’s almost July, and we’ve got big plans – MBA meet-and-greets and a 1-month consulting immersion course in South Africa. This course is our (much) cheaper version of Black Belt, but using the same methodology – break down the process, practice by yourself, and practice with a partner. That number is insane.

I hadn't applied during the regular recruiting season as I was planning on going directly to an MBA program and trying to get into consulting afterwards. This was the mental image I had in my mind when I was recruiting (and no information existed anywhere to counter this image. so it seemed like a better fit for me, so I focused.

Of course I did not pass the AD and failed to get an offer. I watched the videos first and found them amazing! I never submitted a resume through their website, but rather, followed your advice on networking and was able to connect and network with someone who directly referred me to their recruiter.
