When you try to talk to everybody, you talk to nobody and you'll wind up trying to sell your methodologies to anyone who will buy them and truth is - no one wants your methodology. There are so many things that we're experts in and so many processes and methodologies we use to create results for our clients.

This makes sense, as Parthenon’s founders (and Parthenon-EY Senior Managing Director Bill Achtmeyer) are ex-Bain and the methodology and persona of the two firms are similar. Once hired, Parthenon-EY places an emphasis on quickly getting you in to the training program and then on to projects. Internships.

It’s almost July, and we’ve got big plans – MBA meet-and-greets and a 1-month consulting immersion course in South Africa. This course is our (much) cheaper version of Black Belt, but using the same methodology – break down the process, practice by yourself, and practice with a partner. That number is insane.

You are trained on how to get into a CEO’s mindset within a lifetime of an engagement while being an outsider. Consultants get to travel quite a lot and meet different kinds of people and this makes them diverse and enables them to have insights, which others can only strive for. Nothing beats experiential learning. Be careful here.
