The cons of investment banking – the long hours, the repetitive and unengaging nature of the work, the lack of non-finance exit opportunities – mattered far more to me than a 6-figure salary. Consultants – depending on firm – travel anywhere from 25-75% of their time. This attitude permeates all interactions.

That being said, the travel model will vary depending on the needs of the client. You would be expected to manage the junior client interactions for example working with the finance or marketing team, and be given opportunities to present work to senior business leaders. How does finance link to strategy and basic accounting?
