Four years later, in 2001, The Advisory Board Company went public (NASDAQ: ABCO). The firm also started growing rapidly through M&A, acquiring Crimson, an analytics, data, and business intelligence software provider focused on analytics related to physician performance, healthcare practice quality and cost management in 2008.
