I was so nervous and overwhelmed by the volume of the material that I started to panic and didn't manage to prepare myself properly. Of course I did not pass the AD and failed to get an offer. I didn't write unique, custom-tailored or even interesting cover letters (seriously, if I had to read hundreds, I'd skip mine after the 5th word) 2. Before my interviews with both firms, I actually got rejected from non- management consulting jobs (even though they were both less prestigious firms and would have been backups for me). This, of course, involves extensive case interview practice with Look Over My Shoulder ® , live practice with a partner, or preferably both.
