One of my biggest fears when I first gained an interest in consulting was that I was simply ineligible as a non-business student. Breaking into the consulting industry with a non-business degree can be challenging as a sizeable portion of hires are from top business schools, but non-business hires are on the rise.

I wanted to send you a quick note on how I have been able to secure a McKinsey interview , despite not knowing anyone in consultancy. I contacted the McKinsey Director for Middle East offices (He is the most senior fellow I could find -- my strategy was to start from the top). I have consequently been invited for an interview.

We recently had the opportunity to interview Jason, a student at NYU Stern who landed a summer internship with Deloitte Consulting S&O.
