Using your frameworks and guidelines, I was able to recently secure offers from Oliver Wyman and McKinsey (I accepted the McKinsey offer). However, after spending a few months on applications I ended up getting rejected from all five places I applied (who knew this would actually be the best thing to happen for me).

Does Oliver Wyman really offer a “different kind of consulting”? 2 key players were former Booz Allen Hamilton partners, Alex Oliver and Bill Wyman, who creatively (or not so much) named the firm after themselves. Mercer took after its parent company and began building and acquiring its own businesses.

People often ask how many cases they need to do in order to achieve a high enough proficiency to get the job offers they covet. An applicant can be rejected based on poor fit interview performance. MBB (Mckinsey, Bain, and BCG) usually want to meet in person for each round of interviews.

The top three consulting firms — McKinsey, Bain, and BCG — have acceptance rates of less than five percent during any given year. If you can speak multiple languages, the firm may view you as an asset for a specific market that they’re targeting. Your resume needs to show all of these skills. Emphasize Language Skills. Keep It Simple.
