Effectiveness or Pleasure

There’s a saying I’ve lived by for quite some time now. If you’re going to do something, you should either strive to do it well… or do it for the sheer pleasure of it (regardless of how well you do it). Those two options make sense to me. What doesn’t make sense to me is doing something poorly that doesn’t bring you joy. If you love to sing, you’re terrible at it, but you enjoy it… go for it.
