Following the election of Donald Trump, spending on American infrastructure appears to be one area where Democrats and Republicans can agree—at least in principle. Trump has pledged to push for $1 trillion of new spending on roads, bridges, and more; but some Democrats (and some conservatives too) have criticized how Trump plans to find the money. John Macomber, a senior lecturer in the finance unit at Harvard Business School, has studied infrastructure financing around the world.
