As of last year, 93% of senior marketing professionals use video for online marketing, sales or communications.

Most (84%) used this content on their own website; and more than 60% also using it as a part of their social media and email marketing campaigns.

Which should make us consultants think: if the vast majority of marketing professionals are using video for online marketing, shouldn’t we be doing the same for our businesses?

My company is focused on conducting user experience research.  While I often let the facts and figures speak for themselves, I’ve been told that my ability to communicate and share our findings has been critical in earning both new and repeat business.  What better way to convey that capability than showing a video of myself, doing just that?

I know putting together a video isn’t as simple as getting dressed up and talking to a camera.  Even for the most basic of videos you need to develop a vision, including purpose and storyline.  Challenging for the likes of a numbers-head like me, but well within the realm of what I can do.

WIC is making it easy on us: Stephanie Shaterian, fLO Content Marketing, will be joining us on Wednesday November 12, to lead a luncheon and workshop on creating compelling videos for our businesses.  We’ll roll up our sleeves and create a script and video production plan that with a little effort (and a generous offer from Kristin Baier, Persuasions eLearning) can be shot in time to use in 2015’s marketing efforts.

I don’t know about you, but I sure could use a leg up on next year’s marketing.  Join us!

    Hi Lisa,

Yesterday when WIC’s Amy Smith asked me to write a blog series for WIC I naturally looked up WIC’s past blogs. Voila! There was YOUR informative piece on online video marketing. I was surprised to learn that 93% of sr. marketers use video for online marketing. Though I came up as a broadcast TV writer-producer, and moved over to corporate video, I have yet to put video on my own website. Your article reminded me to get on it! I remember you were very poised when we met at my “Cool Under Fire” workshop and that you did forecasting as part of Brookside’s research. So I wasn’t surprised to learn from this bio above that you’ve made multiple guest spots on CNN, and other major networks and spoken at Comdex.
