Just Living is Not Enough Raising the Barr Weekly Memo: Issue 495

It’s mid-July. Already. It seems like the winter snow has just melted and yesterday I saw fall décor and school supplies lining store shelves with the 4th of July streamers, flags and picnic supplies already shoved aside in a heap. I didn’t have a chance to make any summer plans yet, as I am still in “waiting for summer to arrive” mindset mode.

But here we are. In just the past 6 weeks, Laurel has officiated 7 weddings, 6 funerals, several baby naming and nursing home services, and I’ve been working steadily all along on quite a few interesting clients’ projects as the pages of our summer calendar flipped and fell to the floor. I do manage to also balance my days with intense morning pickleball games, photography, and family time. Covid is still here and has reached some of our family members and friends, and some, unfortunately, for the second time around.

Are you able to enjoy your summer and life with family and friends or are you still waiting to for that special moment to arrive? I say the time is now!

It’s time to enjoy the beautiful weather before we are forced to bring out the sweaters and switch the AC to Heat. It’s time to take a break to enjoy the green trees, grass, hiking trails, nighttime fireflies, nature, travel, and especially family and friends.

Hans Christian Andersen said, “Just living is not enough… one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower.”

Now go have a great rest of the summer!
