Taking Action – Maybe Tomorrow?

The Wall Street Journal had an article titled, “New Ways to Battle Procrastination.” So, I tore it out to read later. Seriously, I did tear it out and did so because I was about to go into a meeting and wanted to get rid of the rest of the paper. Like a lot of people, I have a list of things I need to do. And I love checking off those I complete. But, and this is a big but, when it’s something I can quickly do, I do it right way.

Awareness vs. experience

We are more aware than ever before. More aware of victims of violence, or a natural disaster. More aware of insane wealth or grinding poverty. It gets beamed to us, regularly. We’re even more often exposed to social hijinks, sports stars or business moguls. We’re aware that people run a marathon, or fast for a week. That they start a business or meditate every day.

I am Thankful that My Consulting Firm Values My Time

This past New Year’s Eve, I was surrounded by people sharing what they were thankful for in 2019. Since then, I have put much thought into thinking about how thankful I am to work for a consulting firm that empowers me to make time for my personal life’s priorities. Maybe I was overly pessimistic about consulting life, but based on the tales from the MBA recruiting story mill, I expected to put my personal life on regular pause as I lived the hustle of unpredictable and demanding work hours.
