This fast-paced biotech client wanted managers to have the competence and confidence to lead and build high performing teams that were engaged, committed, and aligned. The highly customized Leading Teams Workshop was a 12-week highly experiential program focused on helping team leaders to better lead, manage, and coach their teams to higher performance.

Based upon data from our people manager assessment center, team leaders learned how to be purposefully transform a group of talented individuals into a cohesive working team working that plays to its strengths as it strives to achieve common goals. This requires team leaders to create high levels of strategic clarity and motivation.

Combined with new manager training best practices, team leaders learned to develop a clear line of sight for team members to contribute to agreed upon strategic priorities through a practical and outcome-oriented team charter that codifies the team’s goals, roles, success metrics, resources, and constraints.

The customized leadership action learning program included:

  • Welcome Conversation
    A personalized conversation with each participant, their boss, and an executive coach to answer any questions about the Leading Teams Workshop.
  • 360 Feedback
    A 360 assessment focused on the key leadership and cultural attributes and behaviors for success with a comprehensive report and a 1:1 coaching session with an executive coach to personalize your feedback.
  • Onboarding
    A 90-minute onboarding with all participants to prioritize a growth mindset, define development goals, and agree upon exopectations.
  • Leading Teams Workshop
    Multiple customized and interconnected leading teams workshops with pre-work, job aids, and homework to explore and reinforce key concepts and techniques.
  • Learning Pods
    To enhance learning and increase accountability to apply lessons learned and complete key action learning projects, learners participated in groups of 3-4 with pod coaching sessions to facilitate reflection, feedback, and continuous learning to create actionable habits,
