The Consulting Firm Caption Competition

Consultants like to know the order of things. That’s why smart, consulting leaders like you ask insightful, “Which comes first?” questions.

For instance, when it comes to writing content, consultants ask, “Which comes first, the article or the puns?” or, “Which comes first, the title or the chocolate reference?”

Most pressing of all, of course, is, “Which comes first, the art or the text?”

This time, it’s the art. And, while I’m away on vacation, I thought it would be fun to get your input on the illustration below. Add some text to the drawing. What (if anything) are the characters saying? Does the illustration have a title? Maybe it’s about consulting… but then again, maybe not. Let me (and your fellow readers) know in the comments below.

Thanks in advance for your ideas. Reading what you come up with is a fun reason to come back from vacation!

What an impressive bow and arrow. Too bad the target is in the opposite direction.

Funny… though, I made a squinty, “I’m not 100% sure I understand” face. Thanks, Paul!

I wish I could get all business leaders to get this.. aim for what you can imagine but not necessarily see.

Ooohhh. Pithy. And clever, since the target is out of the frame. Very impressive, Michael.

You may be ready to shoot ahead, but if your clients aren’t able to keep up, you’re not using right side up thinking.

Smart! And double bonus points for the Right-Side Up thinking reference, Christi. Well played.

She’s completely wrong about how to use that toy sailboat.

      Hysterical, Nicholas.

And, you epitomize what I love about this community: the ability to see the world completely differently from everyone else. Nicely done.
