As the argument goes, if everyone knows everyone else’s pay level, patterns of discrimination will be broadcast, so pressure to remedy them will mount. But the claims of pay transparency’s beneficial powers go far beyond remedying pay discrimination, extending to boosting an organization’s overall morale and performance.
