The Transcript:

I’m Johanna Rothman, and this is 60 Seconds of Johanna’s Writing WIP for April 26, 2024, where I read an excerpt of just a minute of some writing in progress.

This excerpt is from the speaking book.

How Early Should You End Your Presentation?

I aim to finish the formal part of my presentation ten to fifteen minutes before the scheduled end. Then, it's time for questions.

On the other hand, if you only take half of your allotted time, your audience might wonder what happened to the rest of what you planned to say.

Don't worry about too much question time. If you offered value in the formal part of your presentation, people have questions.

You can always end your presentation a few minutes early. That will allow you to gather your material and move out of the next speaker's way.

What if  you already answered questions, but there are a ton of people who want to speak with you?
