Virtual Training Best Practices – LogisticsPrior to the start of a virtual training session, send an email confirmation to participants with the following information:

Logistics/Pre-Session Information

  • Virtual session date(s) and time(s)
  • Duration of the class
  • Trainer/Facilitator name/contact information
  • URL and Participant login in information and URL (connection details)
  • Audio or conference call information
  • Computer system requirements
  • Technology checks to be completed prior to the first session
  • Session prerequisites (such as pre-reading or assignments to be completed prior to the first session, handouts to be printed prior to the first session)
  • Instructions for using a variety of the collaboration and other features of the virtual session to increase participant’s comfort level

The more information you can provide prior to the start of the virtual training, the more likely you will have a smoother running session and your participants will be engaged and comfortable with the technology.
