Leadership course and footy

Today’s AFL grand final day in Victoria. Loved this tiny section of an article about why the current teams are winning. I’m not a footy fan, a friend pointed this out, but here’s the important piece

Collingwood coach, Nathan Buckley, underwent a leadership course this year, with observers noting Buckley’s more relaxed and fun attitude… Let’s worry less about the 5% that’s not going so well and focus on the 95% we’re hitting out of the park*

As I teach leadership programs, it was a lovely reinforcement of the value of the work I do (and the values of all soft skills trainers and coaches everywhere!).

* as a side note, I love that we’re using a baseball metaphor (hitting it out of the park) to describe better performance in AFL
