:: Sixty plus Women In Consulting members made the trek to Sunnyvale last week to hear the latest tips on how to grow their consulting practice with LinkedIn. WIC members got to network with each other and the LinkedIn team.  Between sips of wine and excellent food, every WIC member in attendance got a professional headshot courtesy of LinkedIn.

Thank you to the team of customer success managers who hosted and shared best practices on the ever-growing professional networking platform, now over 500 million members strong.

Customer Success Manager Linda King pitched social selling using Sales Navigator. Her #1 recommendation: don’t start InMail outreach with direct business pitches as 90% of people don’t respond to cold outreach.

Customer Success Manager Veronica Murillo shared her profile to give everyone in the audience at least one idea to transform their profile from a warmed over version of a resume to a compelling professional story.  My personal favorite…be bold, write about yourself in the first person.   That one is now on my “to do” list.

Members and presenters discussed the pros and cons of ProFinder, a social platform to promote your business or find extra freelance talent.  LinkedIn Product Marketer Ashika Balani received a few recommendations from the audience on how the new platform could better respond to bid requests.

And while the entire event can’t be recapped in one short post, if you see anything unusual in your profile the official word is…CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD IMMEDIATELY.
