As long as I can remember, music has always been important to me.

And at the tender age of 10, I (and several million others), discovered The Beatles. That started my record collection.

I especially remember Beatles ’65, Help, Rubber Soul, Revolver and Sgt. Peppers. But The Beatles (commonly called The White Album), was something quite special.

It was released 50 years ago this week, but I vividly remember listening to it for the very first time – and it blowing my 16-year old mind.

The White Album has everything. Hard rock (Helter Skelter), soft rock (My Guitar Gently Weeps), blues (Yer Blues), love song (Martha My Dear), novelty (The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill), folk (Blackbird), country (Rocky Raccoon), classical (Dear Prudence), Beach Boys (Back in the USSR), avant garde (Revolution 9), comedy (Piggies), romance (I Will), shmaltz (Goodnight), satire (Sexy Sadie), ska (Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da), punk (Why Don’t We Do It In The Road), and probably a few more.

And the moods range from tenderness to raucousness, from seriousness to silliness, from calming to numbing.

The genius of the album is that all the songs somehow all fit into a seamless whole. All I know is that I listened to it endlessly – and still listen to it to this day.

I’m listening to it now as I write and enjoying it as if it’s the first time. Well, it is in a way, as I’m listening to the new stereo mix, which sounds a little brighter than the original (see Giles Martin interview, below).

This collective work of John Paul, George, and Ringo is an enduring work of art.

It’s something that makes us FEEL the whole range of emotions, from pensiveness to exultation.

So how does this magnificent piece of music relate to your business, marketing and attracting more clients?

Well, I don’t know for sure, but like everything in life that I’ve experienced deeply, it’s a part of me and in some mysterious way it touches every part of my life.

What does it mean to you?
