Time To Be A Tech Services Disruptive Leader During Pandemic

This article is more than 3 years old.

To market technology services, consider the disruptive leader strategy for business development to shake things up during the pandemic.

“While the hardware industry has been disrupted multiple times, including with the ‘Intel Inside’ model, the software industry has never been disrupted until now,” says Feyzi Fatehi.

A Silicon Valley veteran, Fatehi currently serves as the CEO of Corent Tech – named among The Top 10 Most Disruptive Private Companies by Insights Success magazine in 2018.

Typically, being called disruptive was a slight; but from a business development leadership standpoint, it is a compliment.

“Disruptive leaders like Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk have transformed companies, industries and entire societies while generating incredible wealth for themselves, their investors, their employees, as well as millions of other people,” says business disruption expert John Furth, author of the book Owning Tomorrow.

For over 25 years Furth, now a Vistage chair in Brooklyn who I met when I helped him edit his book, worked with CEOs at some of the largest corporations of the world such as Sony, Deutsche Bank, Pfizer and Discovery Communications.

“Great disruptors ask excellent questions and listen carefully to the answers because they never know when someone else might have an insight that could be useful to them and the business,” says Furth.

Fatehi’s useful insight is that the disruptive invention of a software platform for software as a service (SaaS) is now posed to play the same role that “Intel Inside” played to democratize PCs around the globe.

Disruptors spread the word about their disruption far and wide.

For example, there is an upcoming digital event on August 13, 2020 co-produced by the Executive Next Practices institute at UC Irvine - an organization that features emerging concepts, technologies and strategies – titled “Democratizing SaaS” with Fatehi of Corent; Jim DuBois, former Microsoft CIO; Carlos E. Garcia, the director of SaaS products and platforms at Accenture; and Walid Abu-Hadba, former corporate VP of developer and platform group at Microsoft and later at Oracle.

“As speakers we will discuss how this new and disruptive technology is creating a new wave of high-paying jobs, and billions of dollars of entrepreneurial opportunities,” says Fatehi. “So instead of hand programming a SaaS offering for three years, one can use this technology (also known as Software Defined SaaS) and define their desired SaaS offering in three hours, and go to market with it the same day.”

Fatehi has been called a technology visionary, inventor, innovator and entrepreneur. He was the recipient of the prestigious 2019 CODiE Lifetime Achievement Award, a recognition bestowed on the likes of Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Bill Gates in the past for their significant long-term contributions to the software industry.

“For the last 10 years we have been heads down developing an operating system for SaaS,” says Fatehi. “The same way that the invention of the database concept as a third party product - as opposed to a feature you build in - helped developers build applications a lot faster and significantly more easily, developers who are building a SaaS offering don’t have to build all the SaaS operations themselves from scratch.”
