Job Hub: Intuit Jobs and Culture

Today we highlight business analyst and post-consulting leadership jobs at Intuit. Intuit is a financial software and information technology company that has spent an impressive 13 years on Fortune’s list of the Best Companies To Work For by pledging to “Simplify the Business of Life!”

Enjoy!

History & Culture

Intuit was founded in Palo Alto, California in 1983, and is most famous for Quickbooks, the industry-leading small business accounting software, and Turbo Tax, a popular tax preparation program for home consumers and small businesses. Intuit has also been listed by Fortune as one of “America’s most admired software companies.” In 1993, the company shut down for a day and the employees defined eight treasured values upon which the heart of the company rests: Integrity without Compromise, Be Bold, Be Passionate, Be Decisive, Learn Fast, Win Together, Deliver Awesome!, and We Care and We Give Back.

The firm believes in people who do things – the hat jugglers, the to-do list junkies, the masters of getting it done faster, better and more efficiently than ever before – whether that’s balancing the household budget, running a business, or paying taxes. No talkers allowed here; at Intuit, your actions truly speak louder than words!

This 30-year-old company has over 8,000 employees, yet Intuit is up against the same challenges all large corporations face. Admirably, the company has managed to retain a highly positive work environment. The firm celebrates diversity and values inclusion. Innovation is valued in a workforce that includes employees with a wide range of life experiences and a supportive culture that lets great ideas rise to the top. Diversity + Inclusion = Innovation and Market Growth.

Employees are highly complementary of both the smarts of fellow employees and the accessibility of senior management. Positive work/life balance combined with competitive salaries and fantastic benefits are the main reasons employees love working here.

Today, Intuit’s expanding portfolio serves customers in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Singapore and India, making it easier for small business owners and accountants to manage their finances, offering localized, desktop and online versions of their products. The firm’s products and solutions are a great answer to the myriad of accounting hassles small businesses face daily.

Interview Tips & Tricks

So what is it really like to work for a company like Intuit? The general mood is positive, with nearly 80% of current and past employees recommending the firm. The interview process can be a bit stressful mainly because they are looking for people who can contribute to their already existing creative world; you will definitely want to prepare for the interview. For technical and behavioral aptitude they dig deep into the person’s knowledge, way of thinking, and responses.

The time from application to offer can range from 1 week to 2 months. Intuit takes a comprehensive approach to making sure that you will be a good fit at the firm, sometimes leading to a longer application process. However, when you can afford to hire the best, and everyone and their brother wants to work for you, you can afford to take your time a little bit.

You’ll start off the interview process with a recruiter phone screen; the call will usually last about 20 minutes and will mainly consist of you walking the recruiter through your resume. Not sure how to turn your resume in to a compelling story? Then check out our resume editing services today!

After the phone call, you’ll be called in to a local office for at least 3 rounds of interviews, usually back to back to back. The interviews at Intuit are mostly behavioral in nature, so be prepared for this with specific hero stories where you can show measurable outcomes stemming from action you took.

Once you have received an offer, Intuit is generally willing to negotiate with you, so it may not be a bad idea to secure an interview or two with some competitors in the industry to see if you can get Intuit to up their offer a bit.

By joining the Intuit team, you will have countless opportunities to think big and achieve your own career aspirations. Work-life balance receives high marks, with employees taking special note of the increased compensation for higher workloads. Pay and benefits are universally praised and considered well above average by current employees. With over 8,000 employees, Intuit, like many corporations, struggles to consistently maintain the connection between executive management and those on the front lines. Despite this, upper management remains highly regarded by the majority of Intuit’s employees. The company offers a very generous benefits package and places high value on wellness.
